We had yet another very busy, but super fun, week. I am tired; the kids are wiped out. I'm hoping to have some down time this weekend, because next weekend is our annual Birthday-Palooza to celebrate Alex and Addie's birthdays.
Each week, I tell myself that maybe the upcoming week won't be as hectic. I can't do that this week. In fact, it's starting to become apparent that I can't even say that next month won't be as crazy. We are a busy family, so I'll just have to quit promising myself an empty schedule.
With that, I'm off to bed.

Schedules
Weird. For the first time in months, we have free evenings. Evenings with no sports practices, no dance classes. Crazy.
I'm almost uneasy about this. Unstructured hours? Nothing good can come from that. Something might get cleaned; papers may be organized. Nobody really wants to see the top of their desk, right? And what fun is it to select clothes out of drawers instead of half-unfolded piles in baskets?
I don't know; perhaps it won't be so bad. I am behind in my reading; it would be lovely to sit and read in the comfort of my own home, and finish a book without renewing it from the library eight times.
At any rate, I won't complain too much. Before we know it, we'll be back to our six-night-a-week chaotic schedule that we know and love. Or loathe. Whatever.

Fumes
I have been on the go, nonstop, today. I left this house at 9am(ish), and didn't return until 3:45pm. In that time, I killed a mile-long to-do list, and had lunch with my kids at school. Tired doesn't even begin to describe how I feel right now. Definitely running on fumes, that's for sure.
But, the fun's not over yet!
I took a brief break from chores to post this blog (so I don't have to sit down to do it later), so I will soon return to the glamorous everyday chores (that never get done every day, let's be real). Al has track practice later (unless I learn a rain dance in the next few minutes...), and then a music lesson, and then we'll have dinner, homework, and baths to accomplish before I can go fall over in a corner somewhere.
I'd love to say that after school is out (in just eight more school days!), our schedule eases up a bit, but since I'm working now that just won't be the case. I just need to find ways to fit in lots of summer fun on my days off so the kids enjoy their break.
Wish me luck on that one. ;)

Kaboom
Ooh, did you hear that? It's the sound of my schedule, blowing up. Ha.
The kids only have 20 school days left for this year. Twenty! That is crazy. They get out super early, but go back in the middle of August, so I guess it evens itself out. I'm used to having an extra couple of weeks to get all of this end-of-school-year business finished, though, so I'm starting to panic a bit.
In light of this, I am posting an abbreviated blog tonight so I can go relax. (This is code for I've had my hands full all evening and I can't think of anything enlightening to share. You're welcome.)
But hey, it's Friday night, so hopefully you're able to relax a bit, too. Happy weekend!

Crazy Busy
Ugh. My schedule just blew up in my face. This week is jam packed, and it just seems to snowball for the next four weeks. I'm tired just thinking about it.
I'm still wondering what happened to April. I feel like it was March, like five minutes ago. Now all the sudden I'm looking into May, June, and July.
The older the kids get, the faster time seems to fly. I suppose that is part of me getting older too, right?
Good night, all. I have a long week to go rest up for, so I'm heading to bed.
